1. Muita calma nesta hora!
Durante o curso de preparação, você se familiarizou com todas as possibilidades e percebeu que não há necessidade de correr. Portanto, você pode relaxar: A hora finalmente chegou e está tudo sob controle.
2. Monitore as contrações.
O médico gostará de saber a frequencia das contrações para determinar a hora da internação.
3. Leve-a, sozinho, para a maternidade.
Você se sentirá mais a vontade e ela também. Avise a família somente quando o bebê estiver quase nascendo, evitando os palpites sem impedir que participe da alegria do nascimento.
4. Esteja atento.
Coloque uma música relaxante, faça uma massagem suave nos intervalos das contrações, ajude-a encontrar a melhor posição, leve-a para passear no corredor, faça a respiração com ela.
5. Entre na sala de parto.
Coloque a roupa esterilizada, lave as mãos até o cotovelo, tire o relógio e permaneça ao seu lado até o nascimento.
6. Peça para cortar o cordão umbilical.
Você vai adorar inaugurar esta nova vida, possibilitar a autonomia de seu filho, desligando-o fisicamente de sua mulher.
7. Fique junto de seu filho.
Sua mulher ficará mais tranquila se você ficar com o bebê do que com ela. Acompanhe o pediatra para saber o peso, o comprimento, as notas do Apgar e o resultado dos primeiros exames, levando-o logo para junto de sua mãe.
8. De o primeiro banho.
Você ficará surpreso de ver como é simples e agradável. Seu bebê vai adorar, relaxar, até … sorrir!!!
9. Limite as visitas.
Visita é bom, mas tem limite. Não deixe que fique muita gente no quarto, nem muito tarde. A tranquilidade da mãe e do bebê é mais importante que o receio de magoar as visitas.
10. Passe a noite na maternidade.
Esta primeira noite é muito importante. Não deixe sua sogra ocupar seu lugar. Você é o pai e é muito capaz de cuidar de sua mulher e de seu filho com a assessoria da enfermagem e do pediatra.
