Eu sempre falo que a pergunta deve ser outra, quanto custa não ter uma. E custa muito.
Pode custar o desespero nas últimas semanas da gestação, o sentimento da falta de apoio. Lembrem-se, gravidíssimas são emotivas por excelência – e ser taxada de aberração por desejar o natural é cruel.
Pode faltar o apoio simples para trocar o médico cesarista. Pode faltar alguém que didaticamente lhe ajude com os medos específicos do parto, um ombro amigo que não vai tentar lhe convencer que o corpo é defeituoso.
Pode custar uma ida precipitada à maternidade, que invariavelmente recairá numa série de intervenções – dolorosas, humilhantes e desnecessárias.
Pode faltar em TP alguém experiente, e que possibilite ao pai curtir o momento sem se preocupar em ser responsável. Pode faltar alguém com lide suficiente para lhe lembrar de comer e beber. Alguma sugestão de respiração, massagens, posições e exercícios nas contrações e expulsivo. Pode faltar alguém para lhe dar um ânimo de confiança.
Pode faltar alguém com tato e confiança na amamentação.
As doulas tem a inteligência emocional desenvolvida: sabem o que falar e como, no momento mais vulnerável de nossas vidas. Dão a segurança para que os papais possam curtir o momento sem pressões. É um bicho multi-uso: ajuda a vencer os medos da gravidez, serve de ombro amigo, ajuda a compreender os processos próprios do parto, cronometra contrações, atende o celular, prepara algo para comer.
Sugere posições para alívio de dor e também para acelerar algum ponto. Um guia do desconhecido. Diminui estatisticamente as necessidades de analgesia, fórceps e cesáreas – vai menosprezar isso?
E o dinheiro? É pouco. Com certeza, dá-se sempre um jeito de pagar. Não é absolutamente tão caro quanto você imagina, e valeria a pena mesmo que custasse o quádruplo. Passe nesse meu post sobre enxoval e reveja seus conceitos do que é realmente importante.
Se você colocar no papel quanto custariam os desdobramentos de uma cesárea e uma amamentação falida, dá muito e MUITO mais do que o custo da doula – sem contar no aspecto psicológico de viver a experiência mais marcante de uma mulher com plenitude.
A pergunta é: posso não ter doula e ter um belíssimo parto natural? Claro que pode, é tudo uma questão de respeito e conhecimento.
Ter doula durante o TP é uma escolha – por exemplo numa casa de parto boa com acompanhante carinhoso ou domiciliar com certas parteiras. Agora num hospitalar, ainda mais no Brasil, acho totalmente improvável – não recomendo em hipótese alguma. Sou da opinião que se vc acha que está em ‘dúvida’ se quererá uma doula, pegue. Nunca vi nenhuma se arrependendo de ter.
Não caia na besteira de achar que acompanhante fará esse papel: o mais normal é tal pessoa não querer que a parturiente ‘sofra’, ficam com pena, ou simplesmente se apavoram com o parto. Não é por mal, simplesmente é a falta da segurança e experiência.
